Watu Buceng Beach in Malang City, East Java Province

It sounds alluring to visit a beautiful city like Malang in East Java Province. The region offers many attractions including southern beaches like Watu Buceng, after all. This one is located in Banjarejo Village and resides in Donomulyo Sub-District. Some people may wonder what kind of beach it is, no? Watu Buceng is considered a new vacation spot, so it has a perfect and clean environment (due to the absence of trash left by tourists). This unspoiled nature makes the beach suitable for relaxation and enjoying casual beach activities like photography and beach walking, without a doubt.

The Nuance
In terms of nuance, the beach offers a peaceful ambiance due to the low number of visitors. The shoreline has a soft texture and light brown color. Despite the fact, many stones are scattered on it, so tourists need to wear footwear when beach walking. The most recognizable feature is the presence of a unique coral reef or hill in the east part of the shoreline. The shape looks like a ceremonial rice or Tumpeng, in fact. This explains why the locals name the site Watu Buceng, which means the rock of Tumpeng. Also, bushes grow abundantly around the shoreline.

Exploring Watu Buceng Beach
A trip to Watu Buceng Beach is considered meaningful due to various landscapes that tourists may see while heading to the location. Once arriving at the parking area, tourists may see a big tree in midst of it as well. Actually, that is the entrance to 4 different beaches including Watu Buceng, Pulodoro, Kedung Celeng, and Bantul Beach. If tourists want to get to Watu Buceng, though, they should go left. From the parking area, it takes only 2 minutes by walking.

The question is what tourists may do in Watu Buceng Beach. Even though visitors should not expect a white sandy shoreline, the beach does come with an exotic light brown landscape. That means visitors still can enjoy beach walking in a satisfying manner. Here is the uniqueness. Almost all parts of the shoreline are covered with stones. Not to mention their size and shape vary. In terms of size, the shoreline is considered short but it is surrounded by two beautiful hills.

It is a little bit disappointing that tourists are not allowed to swim in the sea due to the big waves. Instead, they can enjoy sightseeing and photography by the beach. The best object to capture is definitely the Buceng Coral Reef itself. Also, during the low tide, a new spot occurs and it is covered by moss. What an interesting place to spend a vacation!
