Lampu Island in North Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province
It is not surprising that Sulawesi Island has lots of allures for tourists to enjoy. One of its regions, Gorontalo Province, is not an exception. This one even has several small beautiful islands, which are suitable for exploration, island hopping, diving, and many other fun activities. One of them is called Pulau Lampu or Lamp Island. The locals gave the name due to the presence of majestic lighthouse on that island, after all. Aside from that interesting building, the island also has other allures, though. These include the soft-textured sandy shorelines! Don’t forget to enjoy beach walking, therefore. The island is covered mostly by sand, but it also features some big cliffs on the sides. Usually, tourists would stand in front of any unique objects and conduct photography there. Thus, carrying a camera is indeed a must!
The next thing to do is fishing! In this case, tourists should carry their fishing rod and other required equipment. No facilities operate on the island, after all. Have no worries. Almost all spots are good for fishing so everyone can get lots of fishes easily. Aside from fishing, it is also recommended to rent either a boat or jet ski beforehand. The purpose is indeed to explore the sea comfortably with it.
What is next? Those who come to Lampu Island should not miss the chance to climb the lighthouse and witness stunning panoramas from up there. Have no worries. Outsiders are allowed to enter the lighthouse freely! Next, they must approach nearby historical houses left by the Dutch. It is said those houses have been there since 1917! That area also becomes a perfect location for photography, actually.

How to Get There
For outsiders, the best way to get to Gorontalo Province is indeed by airplane. For example, a flight from Soekarno – Hatta International Airport (Jakarta City) to Jalaluddin Airport in Gorontalo may take around 3 hours. Later, after arriving at the airport, tourists should take Trans Sulawesi and Buol – Gorontalo Street in order to reach Anggrek Port. The distance is 36.4 km so this trip may take around 55 minutes. From the port, they can use a boat and head to the island right away. This voyage would take around 4 hours or less depending on the weather.
