Lahe Island in Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province
In Gorontalo Province, tourists should come to Pohuwato Regency where the famous Lahe Island is located. Even though it requires a boat service in order to reach the island, this vacation indeed offers a new experience to everyone. For the information, the island resides in East Pohuwato Village and it belongs to Marisa Sub-District. The prime allure that tourists can enjoy in the island is definitely the underwater beauty. That means visitors can enjoy water sports like swimming, snorkeling, and diving. One thing, the island is small and it doesn’t feature sophisticated facilities. Thus, everyone should carry his equipment and gears in order to enjoy those activities.
As mentioned before, the size of the island is small. It is also considered a secluded island due to the absence of facilities and accommodations. Despite the fact, lots of beautiful things can be found there. For instance, the island is surrounded by soft-textured light-brown sandy shorelines. In the middle of the island, lots of bushes and trees grow abundantly too. As for the sea, the waves are small and the surface is shallow. No wonder, tourists can see corals clearly from the land. Not to mention the water clarity is quite excellent! Plus, lots of beautiful fishes live down there!
Exploring Lahe Island
The first thing that makes Lahe Island popular is the location. It is close to the famous Pohon Cinta tourist area so everyone can visit two interesting places on the same day (without spending too much time). As for tourist activities, it varies, though. For example, some people come to the island in order to get rid of the stresses. They take advantage of the island’s serenity and seclusion for getting away from routines. No wonder, the number of visitors would be higher on weekends and holidays. On the other hand, the nuance feels too quiet during regular days!
Well, the next thing that tourists can enjoy in Lahe Island is beach walking. Both the texture and beauty of the shoreline are quite stunning, after all. For the best experience, though, this activity must be done aside from noon. The purpose is to avoid the heat of the sun and to get a better ambiance. That means beach walking is suitable in either early morning or afternoon. In fact, tourists have the chance to witness the astonishing view of sunrise or sunset at those times!
What is more? Lahe Island is indeed well-known for its underwater beauty. No wonder, snorkeling and diving become two prime activities to do there. Here is important information. The local government has sunk lots of old vehicles in the sea around the island. The purpose is to create new fish apartments and replace damaged corals. During snorkeling and diving, later, tourists can also watch these objects down there. Don’t forget to carry and use a waterproof camera too, later!
