Luak Gadang in Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province

Exploring Luak Gadang
Once arriving at the parking area, which is located near to a local mosque, tourists can walk directly to Luak Gadang. At the entrance, tourists may see lots of canoes right away. These objects float on two beautiful natural ponds! The water is milky green and a special wooden bridge separates these ponds. In the left part, tourists may see a crystal-like cliff with some holes on it. Due to the majestic appearance, this cliff often becomes a background for photography. From Jakarta City, tourists can take an airplane service at Soekarno – Hatta International Airport and head to Padang City (the capital of West Sumatra Province). This flight usually takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes. After arriving at Minangkabau Airport, tourists can take Maninjau – Lubuk Basung Street and head to Agam Regency right away. The distance is 109 km, so the trip would take around 2 hours and 15 minutes. From Agam, they can simply take Padang Lua – Maninjau Street and head to Luak Gadang at Kamang Hilia Village.
