Enjoying the Beauty of Werbes, an Exotic Beach on the Tambrauw Coast
Tambrauw Regency, West Papua is shrouded in dense forest. In addition to being rich in natural beauty and biodiversity, the area that settled in the bird's head on Papua map also has a beautiful coastline. For example Werbes Beach. The beach, which is located in Kampung Nombrak, Bikar District, is exotic with brownish sand that curves along the island line. The turquoise sea combines with the waves that not too big. The beach is so charming because it is lined by shady trees.
Across from this beach, you can see the white sandy island of Pulau Dua. This island is famous for its underwater natural beauty, very suitable for diving and snorkeling. Werbes Beach is still very natural and not so much visited by tourists. So far, Werbes Beach has only been visited by local tourist, such as those from Sausapor and Miyah Districts. They usually come on weekends to relax or take a sea bath. The outskirts of Werbes Beach are very fun for relaxing because there are still many tall and shady trees. There is also a gazebo here.
This beach is also equipped with several homestay inns for guests from out of town who still want to be here for a few more days. Local residents around the beach are very friendly to tourists. They always welcome visitors who want to enjoy the sun on Werbes beach. For certain events, local people will perform several traditional dances, namely the Sekar dance. Sekar dance is a typical dance welcoming guests by the Tambrauw tribal community.
In addition, there is also a cultural attraction of drinking sap water with leaves poured from bamboo typical of the local tribe. There is also a tradition of asking women to marry and playing musical instruments with traditional bamboo instruments to accompany the singing. Local people are also happy to teach visitors how to burn sweet potatoes with stones and wood, a local specialty. All local cultural attractions are really interesting and unique.
