Ayamaru Lake

The lake with an area of about 980 hectares with a maximum depth of 6 meters has tidal characteristics according to the season. The public is very aware of the importance of the function of Lake Ayamaru itself. Not only does it function as a source of life because water is abundant to meet the needs of a district, but also functioned as a means of transportation between districts and its function in the tourism sector. In the field of fisheries, this lake is quite superior because the fish that live here are not only fish for consumption, but also many types of colorful ornamental fish. Several types of shrimp can also be found here, such as red shrimp, yellow shrimp and blue shrimp. Various types of fresh fish and lake snails have become delicious food for residents around here.

During the dry season, the water in this lake will shrink and you can see the underwater scenery inhabited by fish. Not to mention the location of the lake which is adjacent to Australia's territory, making the area around the lake a haven for migratory birds from Australia. A clear lake with water colors, very beautiful yellow green and blue gradations. Fish that go back and forth are clearly visible.
Ayamaru Lake is surrounded by natural karst which makes the view of this lake even more beautiful. There are many activities you can do while visiting Ayamaru Lake, including swimming, enjoy the scene around the lake by boat, watching fishermen catch fish with spears, and hunting for photographic objects. In few times you will meet small children who are hunting fish here. Don't even think they spend their time fishing, because the kids here use spears to catch fish. How to get there?
You can reach this lake with a travel time of about 6 hours by road. If you want to shorten your travel time, you can take a plane from the airport in Sorong City to Kambuaya Airport in Maybrat Regency, which takes about 40 minutes. Furthermore, from Kambuaya Airport, a traveler friend can continue the journey using a motorized vehicle to Lake Ayamaru.
