Mount Botak

Even though the name is Mount Botak (bald), this mountain in South Manokwari Regency is not completely bare. Large trees were not visible in all directions, but short plants, shrubs and weeds covered the ridge of the mountain, looking like a giant mound of yellowish green color.

This mountain, which seems to be formed from the land that spills near the sea, is directly facing the Pacific Ocean. From its peak, there are views of the ocean and the horizon, as well as the twists and turns of the road at the foot of the mountain that looks like a batik painting.

On the headland, visitors can take pictures against a backdrop of mountain and ocean views, which look like a calm lake surrounded by mountains. The waters around the mountain are clear. Fishermen can calmly catch fish there because the waves are not big. However, there are not many fishermen who fish there because of its location far from the villages.

White sand beautifies the beach that surrounds the bay. In some parts, the white sand is wide enough as play area by the beach. The most fun spot in this tourist spot in Ransiki, South Manokwari, is the edge of a cliff that leads to the sea. But if you want to take a picture near the cliff, you should be careful because there is no adequate security fence facility.

Manokwari is indeed very rich in natural tourism, this is evidence of one of the tourist destination in Papua and many more in Manokwari.

How to get there?
The trip to Mount Botak includes a road trip of about seven to eight hours from Manokwari to Bintuni accompanied by beautiful natural scenery, passing villages of local people and transmigrants which are far away in Momi Waren District, South Manokwari.

To get there, you need a car with special specifications because the roads are hilly and unpaved clay roads. Public transportation is not yet available, but there is a rental car.
