Doreri Bay
Manokwari has known among underwater lovers, especially those who like diving. Manokwari keeps the natural wonders under the sea. Many people come to Manokwari to find “pearls” that are difficult to find elsewhere. In Doreri Bay, there are 3 small islands, namely Mansinam Island, Lemon Island, and Raimuti Island near Arfai Beach, which still have a collection of unique and beautiful coral reefs.
The underwater world around Doreri Bay, which contains shipwrecks, is one of the best sites for shipwrecks of any kind in Indonesia. It is estimated that there are more than 20 shipwrecks there, but what can be seen clearly are 6 wrecks. Such as the Pasir Putih Wreck, a type of naval patrol boat with between 13-22 m length, the Pillbox Wreck a type of commercial cargo ship carrying ammunition with between 9-16 m length, Cross Wreck a type of patrol boat, Mupi Wreck, Shinwa Maru a type of cargo ship. This magical sight always manages to make many adventurers save money so they can buy plane tickets to Manokwari and dive in Doreri Bay.
Doreri Bay has various functions, as a place for several rivers (Sanggeng, Wirsi, Kwawi and Cold), a sea port for both national domestic and inter-island in Papua, a place for traditional fishermen's capture fisheries activities, residential areas and recreational areas.
West of Teluk Doreri is another bay and the suburb of Wosi. Pasir Putih, a beautiful white-sand beach, is a 10-minute drive to the northwest, and the offshore island of Mansinam is accessible by a short ride on an outrigger. Doreri Bay is located less than 2 km from Swiss-Belhotel Manokwari, it only takes a 15-minute walk south to reach Doreri Bay or a 6-minute drive via Jalan Yos Sudarso.
How to get there?
The Manokwari city has Rendani Airport which operates from 6 AM - 5 PM, the length of the main runway is about 2000 m with the largest aircraft type of Boeing 737 series 300. Airlines operating such as Express Air, Sriwijaya Air, Susi Air, Trigana Air, etc. The distance between Rendani Airport and downtown Manokwari is about 5 km. From the city of Manokwari you can go to Teluk Doreri by land vehicle.
