East Java Exclusive Tour Package 9 Days/8 Nights

Day 1: Bali-Banyuwangi
We leave for the western tip of Bali on AC-ed van to catch the ferry to Ketapang, East Java. The view to Bali’s lovely deserted black sandy beaches and the endless picturesque terraced rice fields and rustic villages along the way is awesome. It takes 40 minutes to cross the narrow Bali Strait from Gilimanuk to Ketapang. Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant. After lunch, direct drive to your hotel (a good two starred hotel with AC, hot and cold water, and swimming pool). In the afternoon we will have a city tour to see glimpses of the local daily life, visiting the local market and a Chinese temple. Dinner and overnight at the Ketapang Indah Resort.
Day 2: Climbing To The Top Then Continue The Trip To Kalibaru
Wake up call early in the morning, then having breakfast. After breakfast we will leave
for slopes of Ijen by jeep or by van passing through coffee, clove plantations and tropical rainforest. During two hour soft climbing we will pass along shady track with amazing views to reach the top at the altitude of 2883 m above sea levels. From the top the view to the sulphuric lake below is very impressive. We’ll also see locals seeking sulphuric deposits descend into the crater and climb back up along the dangerous rim with loads up to 80 – 100 kilos on their shoulders. In the afternoon we’ll continue the journey to Kalibaru, passing through east Java virgin rainforests. Arrive in the early afternoon at the hotel. The rest of the day you can take the tour to see the rural life here. How local people with traditional method raise and get benefits from their cows. Milk is produced from several milk cows living around the resort and it is possible to see people squeezing milk from the cows. See how they make coffee and brown palm sugar sustainably and traditionally from the flower buds of coconut trees. Our modest hotel is located in the midst of cacao and coffee plantations and we’ll have the opportunity to get a close contact with the nature and the local people. We also may take a walk enjoying the lovely countryside within the plantation premises. Dinner and overnight at Margo Utomo Hotel or similar.
Day 3: Exploring the wild life: ride the offroad 4X4 car to Sukamade Beach to see turtles lying eggs
Breakfast. Opportunity to enjoy the wild life. Before searching the turtle you will go through tropical low land rainforest on the southern coast of Java island. It is also possible to walk on the jungle road for half to one hour after long driving from Kalibaru to Rajekwesi (Fishermen villages). Lunch will be provided. In the afternoon we head towards southern beaches on off the beaten tracks in the midst of virgin forests very rich with wildlife. We ride a four wheeled drive jeep trough Meru Betiri National Park to have once in a lifetime opportunity to see sea turtles lying eggs. At around 18.30 p.m we arrive in the nature conservation camp near the beach to take a rest. Dinner will be provided. At 19.30 we depart to Sukamade Beach on jeep. We sit still on the beach waiting for signals from the staff. When the staff encounter turtles lying eggs, we come closer to get the unique experience to observe the natural process then to help her to cover the holes. To be in the solitary beach in so close encounter with mother nature far away from the crowds, all around you are pounding waves and the music of nature and night animals are experience hard to forget for your lifetime. Back to guest house for nice dreams around 23.00 p.m.
Day 4: From Sukamade Beach to Kalibaru and Blitar
We will have our breakfast around 07.00 a.m. then drive back our jeep to Kalibaru repeating the same road. Arrive in the afternoon at around 13.00 p.m. at Margo Utomo Hotel. Continuing the trip we’ll depart to Blitar through the lovely southern roads. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel in Blitar.
Day 5: From Blitar To Batu and Malang
Early in the morning, after having breakfast, we will leave for Penataran temple (XIII century, Singasari Kingdom era), the biggest and the most beautiful ancient temple of East Java, then on to the Sukarno’s mausoleum (Indonesian first president) visited by many Indonesian people. Lunch will be served on the way. Afterwards we continue our journey to Batu to see large apple orchards where we may pick apple fruits directly from the trees. Here we can enjoy the beautiful cool mountain resort ambiance. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Malang to experience this cool colonial town.
Day 6: Malang City
After breakfast we will have the opportunity to tour the colonial city, the most European among Indonesia cities with his colonial era buiding, its legendary restaurants and stores. Stop by old bookstores, flower and bird market, herbal drink jamu stalls, Chinese temple, legendary Cairo Restaurant in Arab quarter and Toko Oen Restaurant in Chinese Street. Lunch will be provided in the city. In the afternoon we can explore the city’s traditional market. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Malang to experience this cool colonial town.
Day 7: From Malang to Tretes
Breakfast at hotel. Leave for Tretes, a nice mountain resort where we can escape the city heat and breathe the fresh mountain air while hiking to the cool and inviting Kakek Bodo Waterfall. On the way we may stop at Candi Jawi, an important shrine to glorify King Kertanegara of Singasari (XIV century). Stops can also be made at Taman Safari Park, an open zoo concept in which you may wander with the car inside of the park where lions, tigers and other wild animals wander and roam freely. Get your picture taken with exotic animals from all over the world! Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Tretes, a mountain resort with cool fresh air.
Day 8: From Tretes to Mojokerto and Bromo
Breakfast at hotel. Firstly we leave for Mojokerto to see Trowulan-the old capital of Majapahit Empire (1292-1515 AD), to see some historical buildings from the Majapahit time, such as: Gapura Bajang Ratu (old entrance to the palace), Kolam Segaran (old royal swimming pool) and Candi Tikus Temple (old royal bathing compartment). Lunch will be served enroute. Afterwards we’ll continue the journey to Mount Bromo passing through the north coast road. We directly drive you to your hotel in Cemara Lawang. Overnight at Bromo Permai Hotel or similar.
Day 9: Sunrise From Mount Penanjakan, Bromo Climbing and Back To Bali
Wake up call in the early morning at 03.30 a.m. A Four Wheel Drive Toyota jeep will take us to the top of Mount Penanjakan, to see the spectacular sunrise over Mount Bromo and Mount Batok. Afterwards we will take the way down to the Poten temple where we’ll get a ride on a horse back until the foot of Mount Bromo. From here we climb the stairway to the crater rim to get a close look to the smoking crater of this still active volcano. Around 9.30 we’ll return to hotel for breakfast and for having shower, then we leave for Ketapang harbor to catch the ferry back to Bali. After having lunch at a local restaurant, we will take you back to your hotel in Bali.
