2 Days Mount Ijen Crater Lake Trekking Tour

Day  1 :  SOUTH BALI – BANYUWANGI
Pick up from your hotel in South Bali, four hours drive to Gilimanuk across the Bali strait to Ketapang, East Java.
Then drive to Kali Klatak plantation where we have lunch in a coffee plantation in East Java. See how coffee and rubber is planted and processed since ages. Afterwards, drive to your hotel for overnight.
Rest of the day is free at leisure

Day  2 : IJEN CRATER – BALI
Early morning wake up call. After breakfast at the hotel, drive to the slope of Mount Ijen, passing through plantations and rainforest. This is one of the few left in the island of Java with giant ferns and big trees.
Pause at the Park Ranger’s post before hiking further up to the slope of the crater. About 1,5 – 2 hours is needed to reach the rim of the crater along a shady track with amazing views. Take a rest on the edge of the crater at 2380-meter altitude. The sulfuric lake reflects eerie color over the surrounding walls to give an apocalypse like impression. Men seeking the sulfur descend into the crater and climb back up along the dangerous rim with loads of up to 80 kilos on their shoulders. The crater observation will take at leisure. Afterwards drive the port and then cross the strait and back to Bali and your hotel.
