Kohoin River


The Kohoin River is a tourist spot in the middle of the capital city of South Sorong, West Papua. This river is sky blue. The local people who live around the riverbank use the water for cooking and bathing. When you hear the word river, what comes to your mind? Full of rocks, lots of water, green, brown, or what? A fellow river, this one place has very clear water quality. Yes, because the people here really take care of the river which is indeed its natural wealth.

The Kohoin River is also filled with rocks that can used for natural launches. Many large stones are slippery so that they can be used to slide from top to bottom. The Kohoin River is also a habitat for several types of fish. The types of fish that characterize the Kohoin River include Murea fish (ndrawai), catfish-like fish (Los), Suwok fish (a type of ornamental fish, Fha fish (cork fish), Blue Shrimp (kmbing), White Crab (kefsa). This type of habitat has begun to be rarely seen.
