Aimas


Aimas is a district that also the administrative center or the capital town of Sorong Regency, West Papua province, Indonesia. Sorong City has become an autonomous city, while Aimas is still a district, and is the capital of Sorong Regency. Sorong itself is known as Sorong City, Sorong Regency, South Sorong Regency, and there is also a District (Sorong District) in Sorong Regency. In this case, Aimas City acts as a buffer for the growth of Sorong City in the south.

Previously the capital city of Sorong Regency was located in Sorong City. Sorong City continues to experience growth, so that in 1996 it received the status of an Administrative City (Kotip) and in 1999 it officially became an Autonomous City (formerly known as Kotamadya). The position as the district capital was transferred to Aimas City, which is south part of Sorong City.

There are many tourist spots in Aimas that attract visitors. One of them is the Jesus Christ monument, a historical spot which marks that there has been a evangelism in the Bethel Mawolokmai Aimas congregation. This congregation is one of the first congregations in Tanah Moi besides the congregations of Eklesia Klasaman and Elim Malanu.

Aimas district also has Tirta Istiana Indah, a water park tourism object which is a water-based recreational. It has rice water slides, spiral water slides and water splashes. This venue also provides water play facilities for adults and children. The location of Tirta Istiana Indah is located on Jalan Seledri Aimas Unit II and can be reached by four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles.

For culinary tourism, you can come to Klasmesen that can be reached by two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles for about 5 Km from the Regency Capital.
