Tourism trends continue to change and shift as time goes by, specifically after the COVID-19 pandemic. The good news is that the 2024 tourism trend is momentum for revival for the entire tourism sector.
If previously tourists focused on a busy itinerary, this year it’s the opposite. Tourism trends in 2024 will make tourists take mindful, memorable, full-of-meaning, and good-quality trips. In other words, tourism trends this year will encourage tourists to look for new experiences and abandon conventional travel concepts.
After the pandemic, several companies have given their employees work from anywhere. This can increase workers’ flexibility to take short vacations between work hours. Finally, this opportunity creates bleisure (business and leisure) as a tourism trend.
The bleisure is certainly a perfect first step, especially in increasing the movement of domestic tourists. Remember, office employees who previously only sat at their desks all day can work while on holiday in several dream tourist destinations, such as Bali, Labuan Bajo, Likupang, Borobudur, and many others.
To follow the flow of these tourism trends, it must start to develop strategies by providing bleisure packages, for example, by presenting a MICE destination package for business trips and highlighting tourist destinations around the event location.
