The Mount Ijen tourist area was designated a UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGp) in Paris, France, in 2023. Located in Banyuwangi and Bondowoso Regencies, East Java, the geological tourism park has become an Indonesian geopark admired by many international tourists. Ijen Geopark passed the UNESCO Council meeting held in Satun Province, Thailand, on September 5, 2022, with the highest score among other geoparks.
