Although almost the entire coast of the island is dominated by the rocks but Pawole white sand is the best and the coral reefs around Pawole is still in good condition. As one of the outer islands, which are uninhabited, Pawole have ocean currents that relatively heavy when compared with other similar islands. In addition to swimming and snorkeling, walking around the island can be another challenging activity.
With a diameter of a small island, Pawole can be explored by walking for only 15 minutes. But for doing that we can only do when the sea water is receding. Pawole Island is one of a cluster of islands in front of Tobelo town which can be reached 25 minutes by ketinting or motorized boat. There are no public transportation available to Pawole so the only way is to hire a long-tail boat.
