Tanjung Puting National Park – Orangutans Kalimantan Tour (4 Days)

Itinerary:
Discover Central Kalimantan, visit the Orang utan National Park/ Tanjung Puting National Park. See the Orang Utan (Pongo pygmeus) and other wildlife; agile gibbons, black handed gibbons (hylobates agilis), gray gibbons, proboscis monkeys, crab-eating macagues, larges dragonflies, a several large birds such as hornbilis, eagles & kingfishers, etc.
DAY 01: PANGKALAN BUN – CAMP
Upon arrival at Iskandar Airport of Pangkalan Bun, the guide will meet and transfer to Kumai. Lunch at local restaurant. Then board a “Klotok”(typical long boat) go up the Sekonyer river to the Lodge for accommodation. If time permit, a short trip up the river may we provide you with your first sighting of probosciss monkey or bekantan (Nasalis larvatus).
DAY 02: CAMP LEAKY
Breakfast at camp. Full-day excursion through the Tanjung Puting National Park to see agile gibbons, black handed gibbons (hylobates agilis ), gray gibbons, proboscis monkeys, crab-eating macagues, larges dragonflies, a several large birds such as hornbilis, eagles & kingfishers, with a little more patience we may see an estuarine crocodile (crocodylus porosus).
Then boat the river to Camp Leaky, the Orang Utan (Pongo pygmeus), rehabilitation center. At Camp, we trek through the forest for a few hours and return to ranger camp for having lunch.Then walk to feeding place of the Orangutans which have return to the wild. Then, return to the Lodge for dinner and accommodation.
DAY 03: PONDOK TANGGUI – NATAI LENGKUAS
Breakfast at camp. Visit a small village nearby of Tanjung Putting National Park, before going up river to Pondok Tanggui to trek in the forest for a few hours to see some semi-wild orangutan being fed. Continue the trip to Natai Lengkuas to see long nose monkey research. Lunch boxes will be provided. Afternoon back to the Lodge.
DAY 04: PANGKALAN BUN – NEXT DESTINATION
After breakfast, board a Klotok cruise back to Kumai. Then transfer to the airport for flight to your next destination.
