KALIMANTAN BELOW THE WIND (5 Days / 4 Nights)
Day 01: BANJARMASIN, CEMPAKA, MERATUS MOUNTAINS, BENUA RAYA, KINTAP
Upon arrival at Banjarmasin airport, meeting service, by car/minibus transfer to Cempaka village, where local people at a traditional way dig for gem-stones and diamonds, afterwards we continue by car to the Meratus Mountains for a beautifull view over Kalimantan landscape of the green Jungle, before we proceed to Benua Raya village to see the water buffaloes in the swamp forest. Dinner at Local Restaurant and overnight at Kintap Hotel.
Day 02: KINTAP, WILDLIFE RIVER CRUISE, PAGATAN BEACH
Breakfast at Hotel, cruise the Asam river by canoe for spotting wildlife of the swamp and lowland forest, as crocodiles, proboscis monkeys, langurs, birds, and other wild animals. Afterwards, we proceed to Pagatan beach for overnight at Putri Duyung Sea View Cottage.
Day 03: PAGATAN BEACH, ANGSANA SEA GARDEN BEAUTY, RIVER CRUISE, BANJARMASIN
While having breakfast we can enjoy a beautiful sunrise from the cottage, afterwards we proceed to the nearby Angsana beach by boat where we can snorkeling and enjoy the beautiful sea garden to explore coral reefs, many colorful fish species, turtles, etc. In the afternoon we cruise the Angsana River to spot monkeys, birds, bearded pigs, and other wildlife along riverside, to end up in Banjarmasin for overnight at Hotel, Lunch and dinner at Local restaurants on the way.
Day 04: FLOATING MARKET, PALANGKARAYA, Mt. TANGKILING, RUNGAN SARI
Early in the morning, we will visit the floating market of Banjarmasin as being part of Kalimantan river-life, here we can explore the unique culture of Banjarese who trade commodities as fruit, and vegetables from boat to boat. Afterwards we return to the hotel, check-out of the Hotel, and continue our journey overland by car/minibus to Palangka Raya, on the way you see village life with rice plantations, and swamp forest. Upon arrival at Palangkaraya, we check in at Rungan Sari Lodge. Lunch on the way at local restaurant, In the afternoon, we bring a visit to the Mount Tangkiling, which give us a nice view of Kalimantan emerald jungle landscape from the top. We continue to visit the orangutan Rehabilitation center Nyaru Menteng arboretum for information of the rehabilitation process of these wildlife creatures, which can only be found at Sumatra and Borneo Island, We close our day visits with a romantic sunset which we can view the best from the Tahai lake. Dinner at Local Restaurant.
Day 05: KAJA ISLAND, PALANGKARAYA AIRPORT
After breakfast in the morning, we will proceed to the harbor of Rungan River for s cruise by canoe upstream Rungan River to Kaja Island ( Pulau Kaja ), Kaja Island is covered with lowland forest, with lots of wildlife and birds, where we can spot the orangutans from the river side, Afterwards we return to Sari Lodge, free at leisure, till departure time to Palangkaraya airport to catch your flight to your next destination.
