Great Orangutan Holiday Tour (5 days 4 nights)

ITINERARY:
Day 1 : Arrive at Pangkalan bun – Turtle release station ( Tanjung Keluang )
Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport then there pick up service and board on the boat at kumai river, and cruise up Kumai river head to Java see to visit turtle releasing project at Tanjung keluang. Boating by a traditional boat (Klotok) wooden river boat with roof upper deck. See the turtle breeding process and you have chance to release them on the sea. Back to the boat and cruise back to Sekoyer river up to Tanjung Puting National Park. Dinner and Overnight on the boat with comfortable accommodation.

Day 2 : Pondok Tanggui – Camp Leakey
Breakfast board the Klotok to travel up the river for Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation center for orangutans, witness feeding time. Then continue to boat up on tea colored river water where you will see the magnificent reflection from the vegetation along the river, when lucky with us, the fresh water crocodile and other wildlife attraction could find a long river bank. Upon arrive at Camp Leakey orangutan research and rehabilitation center, take short trekking through tropical rainforest searching for wildlife, birds and other rainforest animals as well as tropical jungle plant. Back to the boat for lunch then witness feeding time for orangutan given additional foods.

Day 3 : Pondok Tanggui – Pesalat
Preparation and start tour to Pondok Tanggui after enjoy orangutan feeding time. Have full day trekking accompanied by local expert through the forest while observing wildlife surrounding. Lunch will be provided at the forest. Reach Pesalat in the late afternoon, set a camp and having dinner at the open air in the middle of the forest. During night we might have night observation for nocturnal animal, glowing mushroom is often found. Final, Overnight on the boat.

Day 4 : Pesalat – Tanjung Harapan
In the morning for bird watching, or just enjoy the forest surrounding while enjoy breakfast. Join with replantation activities by planting the tropical plant. Back to the boat and cruise down the river visit Tanjung Harapan Rehabilitation Center to witness orangutan feeding time. Boating during night to observe fireflies along Nipah palm mangrove. Dinner on the boat.

Day 5 : Kumai – Pangkalan Bun airport
Breakfast on the boat then cruise down the river back transfer to Kumai and drive to Pangkalan Bun Airport for next destination.
