Buluh River Orangutan Tour (4 days/ 3 nights)

ITINERARY:
Day 1 : Arrival – Pangkalan Bun city tour – Hotel
Arrive at Pangkalan Bun airport, then drive to Mendawai village, sightseeing around the village and see the local people activities. Continue cross the Arut River by motorized canoe to see the proccess of making boats. At morning, Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon, free programfor your free time. Overnight at Grand Kecubung Hotel.
Day 2 : Sungai Buluh Kecil – Kumai – Tanjung Harapan – Boat
Early morning drive to Kumai port then board the Kumai river to Sungai Buluh Kecil by speedboat. See the feeding time. Afterwards, board the boat slowly to looking for wild animals along the riverbank, you will see many kind of birds and if lucky, you will see the fresh water crocodile along the river. Back to Kumai and move to the traditional boat (Klotok) wooden river with roof upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by. Then boating, stop at Tanjung Harapan Rehabilitation center for orangutan and witness feeding time. Back to the boat and cruise slowly explore the quite river by the klotok while observe the wildlife such as long noses monkey, long tail macaque, birds along the riverside. Dinner and Overnight on the boat.
Day 3 : Boat – Pondok Tangguy – Camp Leakey – Boat
Breakfast and preparation then boat by Klotok to travel up the river for Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation center for orangutans. Afterward continuing to boat up on tea colored river water where you will see the magnificent reflection from the vegetation along the river. Upon arrive at Camp Leakey orangutan research and rehabilitation center, take short trekking through tropical rainforest searching for wildlife. Back to the boat for lunch before witness feeding time for orangutan given additional foods. End tour by Dinner and Overnight on the boat.
Day 4 : Boat – Kumai – Pangkalan Bun Airport
Breakfast on the boat and down the river back to kumai to transfer to Airport for your next destination.
