Then drive to Loajanan, a village which is located 110 km to the North. At the pier of this village you board on a slow boat which will act as a Floating Hotel and depart for &#8220;Dayak Land&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>DAY 02 : MAHAKAM &#8211; TANJUNG ISSUY<br \/>\nAfter stopping at Ma Muntai to obtain a travel permit, continue on to fishing villages of Jantun, Tanjung Jone, Tanjung Hour, arrive at Tanjung Issuy one of the Dayak villages in the afternoon. Upon arrival your group will be welcomed with a traditional ceremony led by the village chief and his people. In the evening, attend a Dayak culture performance in the village. Overnight and meals in the village Long House.<\/p>\n<p>DAY 03 : TANJUNG ISSUY &#8211; MANCONG &#8211; MAHAKAM<br \/>\nIn the morning an opportunity will be given to explore the village and to get to know the Dayak people, their beliefs, art and handicrafts, and customs. You will have an opportunity to see a tribal ceremony. If water condition permit, continue to Mancong village in the hinterland using a canoe called Ketinting, then return to Lake Jempang and board a slow boat for the cruise down the Mahakam river.<\/p>\n<p>DAY 04 : MAHAKAM &#8211; MELAK &#8211; KERSIKLUWAI<br \/>\nBreakfast on board. Drive by truck or Toyota pick-up to the Kersikluwai Nature Reserve &#8211; a forest of 50,000 Ha with numerous varieties of orchids, including the rare Colony Pandurata (Black Orchid). Then drive to Melak and cruise down the Mahakam River.<\/p>\n<p>DAY 05 : MAHAKAM &#8211; TENGGARONG &#8211; BALIKPAPAN<br \/>\nOn the way back to Balikpapan a stop will be made at Tenggarong to observe the Sultan&#8217;s Collection in the museum (closed on Monday). You arrive at Balikpapan late in the afternoon and proceed directly to Hotel Benakutai for accommodations and meals.<\/p>\n<p>DAY 06 : BALIKPAPAN &#8211; OUT<br \/>\nBreakfast at hotel.
