    Lake Poso, Beautiful Two-Color Sandy Lake



    In the province of Central Sulawesi there is a beautiful lake, Lake Poso. This lake is located in the City of Tentena, Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi. Lake Poso holds a unique beauty. Lake Poso is the third largest lake in Indonesia after Lake Toba in North Sumatra and Lake Singkarak in West Sumatra.

    Lake Poso is located on the main route from Toraja in the south and Gorontalo - Manado in the north. Lake Poso is famous for its golden yellow sand. The water waves in this lake are also similar to sea waves. If you pay close attention, color of the water in Lake Poso is quite unique. At the edge of Lake Poso, the water is green and there is a difference with color of the water in the middle of lake where the water is blue.

    Lake Poso is at an altitude of 657 meters above sea level, with an area of 32,000 hectares stretching from north to south with a depth of up to 510 meters. Relaxing at dusk on Lake Poso will give you an unforgettable experience, dusk on a beautiful lake surrounded by hills planted with cloves.

    From the city of Palu, Lake Poso can be reached after a distance of about 283 km with an estimated land travel time of around 8 hours. If departing from Poso City, the lake is 56 km away and can be taken approximately 1.5 hours.

    Not far from Lake Poso, there is a tour of Watu Ngonggi or a collection of large boulders that emerge from the lake. These stones can make a sound when struck. And don't forget to taste the grilled sogili fish which is the typical food of Poso City.

    On one side of Lake Poso, we can also visit the largest orchid conservation in Indonesia, namely Bancea Nature Tourism Park. In this 5,000 hectare garden, we can enjoy the beauty of orchids of various types. One of them is the rare Black Orchid. We can rest for a while in the flower garden with a background in Lake Poso, while capturing the moment by taking pictures.
