One option is to use the local private transport in Ubud and negotiate a price to get there, wait for you (around 1.5-2 hours will do if you are after a quick swim too), and then take you back to Ubud. Another option is to book in advance a private driver. This way you can book either a half day or full day and see more of the area and explore a few different waterfalls in the same day. Once you are at the entrance you still have to walk down some stairs. Just over a hundred stairs. Sounds like a lot but you will be down in no time.
