Peguyangan Waterfall on Nusa Penida isn’t as well known as some of the other spots on the island, but it is one of the best! A bright blue staircase built into the cliff face leads you down to the waterfall and sacred temple at the bottom. There is also one of the most spectacular rock pools at the bottom to swim in. There are around 700 stairs each way so bring your water and expect a calf-burner, but it’s worthwhile because the views on the way are incredible.

The uniqueness of this place is the reason it’s one of the worthy places in Bali, exactly in Nusa Penida. The fact you are scaling down a 200m cliff face to a waterfall and temple at the bottom amazing! Not only do you get to see some amazing views on the way, but you also get to experience the traditions and culture of the locals. Check out some of these views!

The hike down takes about 15-20 minutes depending on how busy it is. The temple itself is a place of worship and blessings so be sure to be respectful. You will notice several water blessing sites in which people bathe under to receive blessings. Meanwhile there plenty of locals flocked to the main area of the temple to partake in a large ceremony.

Once you climb back up the staircase you will certainly need some refueling. There is a warung located at the top of the staircase which has food and drinks.
