You must immediately imagine the clear sea on Derawan Island. This island are famous for its beautiful underwater paradise. Beside of those destinations, here are still many other objects that you should visit. At least once in a lifetime.


Derawan Islands
The Derawan Islands are famous for their marine tourism. One of the favorite tourist destinations in Derawan is the Underwater Park which is a favorite of divers.The archipelago consists of four main islands, namely Derawan Island, Sangalaki Island, Maratua Island, Kakaban Island, and dozens of other smaller islands. All four present their own uniqueness that will make you not run out of activities to enjoy it.

Haji Mangku Cave
Located on Maratua Island, Derawan Islands, this tourist attraction has only recently begun to be visited by tourists since a few years back. The location is in the middle of a forest surrounded by lush trees. Starting with light trekking through a small forest, you have to be extra careful in choosing a foothold because it is typical of its paths with sharp stems.

Bukit Batu Dinding
Located in Bukit Merdeka Village, Samboja District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan. Well, if you want to come here, you can start the adventure from Jalan Soekarno Hatta towards Balikpapan to Samarinda.

Bukit Soeharto
Bukit Soeharto or which has the full name Taman Hutan Raya Bukit Soeharto is actually a forest conservation area. In fact, this place is used to protect trees and various animals that are here from extinction.


Labuan Cermin Lake
Lake Labuan Cermin has a combination of fresh water and sea water. Not only does it contain calm blue water, the combination above also creates a thin layer that resembles a mirror effect!

Bukit Bangkirai
it is not complete to visit East Kalimantan if you have not explored the beauty of the tropical forests presented in Bangkirai Hill. Amazingly, here you can enjoy the green landscape of trees from the bridge that hangs 30 meters from the ground and connects several bangkirai trees!

Pampang Cultural Village
It's called Pampang Cultural Village. The village, which is 40 kilometers from Samarinda city, is inhabited by 800 members of the Dayak Kenyah tribe, one of the Dayak tribes who is legendary because of its toughness.


Taman Batu Sembinai
This natural tourism area is a cliff surrounded by jungle. If you want to enjoy it, it takes climbing that is quite draining. You have to go through winding roads, trekking that is draining, but it pays off with incomparable beauty. To get to the top of the hill, it takes approximately one hour drive.

Kakaban Lake
This lake is different from the lake in general, Kakaban lake is located in the middle of the island. This lake is located in the Derawan Archipelago, Berau Regency, East Kalimantan. Lake Kakaban is about 30 minutes from derawan island by speedboat.

Maratua Island

Want to dive and interact with locals? Just come to Maratua Island. The island inhabited by the Bajau tribe has become one of the best dive locations in the world.

How to visit East Kalimantan
To travel to Kalimantan is now quite easy. Air transportation, the plane is the fastest choice to come to a place. Flights to Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan can be reached within two hours.
