Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport you will be picked up by our local staff and take you to Kumai to board on the boat. The boat is a traditional Klotok wooden river boat about 12m by 2m with a roof which forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides by. The guides team includes the boatman, a cook and expert guide. In the peaceful afternoon we will slowly explore the quite river by the klotok while observe the monkeys along the riverside. Dinner and overnight on the boat. simple mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled mineral water, mosquito net, kitchen, simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar helpful guides and boatmen.
Day 02 Park Camp Leakey Orangutan Research site Boat (B,L,D)
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up river for about 2½ hours boating and then up a side creek to Camp Leakey, this camp was established by Dr. Biurte Galdikas in 1971 as a research site to study wild orangutan. While she studied wild orangutan, she also received lots of ex-captive orangutan that she released into the forest of camp Leakey. Camp Leakey also first orangutan reintroduction in Indonesia. There are more than 200 orangutan ex-captive had been reintroduced into the rain forest. Trekking through tropical rainforest searching for wildlife, wild orangutan, birds and other primate as well as tropical jungle plant. Back to the boat for lunch then witness feeding time at 14.00 pm for old rehabilitation orangutan given additional foods. Overnight on the boat.
Day 03 Park Pondok Tungguy Orangutan Rehabilitation center Camp Leakey or Pesalat Boat (B,L,D).
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up the river for Pondok Tanguy, the orangutan rehabilitation center for the new ex-captive orangutans, see feeding time at 09.00am. Afterward is your free choice You can take the 2nd visit at camp leakey or continuing the trip to Pesalat reforestation camp, See the process of reforestation project or take this opportunity to hike at forest. (For additional we could arrange the night walking on this place searching for nocturnal animal or glowing mushroom.) Free afternoon program, we could visit village near by the park. Overnight on the boat.
Day 04 Park Kumai Pangkalan Bun Kudangan Village (B,L,D).
After very early breakfast, boating down to Kumai then direct transfer by private car to reach Kudangan Village. it will take about 4 hours to reach Kudangan. Lunch will serve en route in the local restaurant. on arrival in Kudangan drive up to Muhur area to get close to the longhouse. trekking up for one hours to reach the Long House in the forest. the owner of the long house will welcome you on his house. enjoy your time with the local animist dayak tribe. Sightseeing around the long house. Dinner and overnight in the long house.
Day 05 Muhur Longhouse Kudangan Pangkalan Bun (B, L, D).
After breakfast together with the owner of the longhouse then you can swim around the small river then packing up and trekking back for 1 hour to reach the car. then drive back to Kudangan. on arrival in Kudangan you will sight seeing around this village to see another longhouse and local activities. Enjoy your time until the time drive back to Pangkalan Bun for another 4 hours drive. Upon arrival in Pangkalan Bun direct transfer to the Hotel. Free program at your own leisure. Overnight at Hotel at Pangkalan Bun.
Day 06 Pangkalan Bun End (B)
After breakfast transfer by car to Pangkalan Bun airport for your next destination.
