    Bougenville Hill Garden, Singkawang

    The city of Singkawang in West Kalimantan has a famous garden called the Bougenville Hill Garden. The garden is located in Sijangkung village, 6 km or 15 minutes from Singkawang. It’s on the foot of a hill with Mount Pasi in the background and surrounded by forests and plantations.

    The garden is dominated by tge Bougenville flower (Bougenvillea Spectabilis). The Bougenville flower is one of the most popular ornamental plants in the world. Here you can find 46 kinds of Bougenville coming from Indonesia and other countries. The garden has a pedestrian tracks and sceneric pools with bridges. You will also be able to see many other kinds of plants like orchid, anthurium, sri rejeki (aglonema), etc.

    Homogen Forest is the most popular place in the garden. The area is also called “Area Super Sejuk” (super mild area) as the many aloes trees will provide shade and fresh air. A popular place for photoshoots, even pre-wedding photos.

    The fruit garden in Bougenville Hill Garden is another popular place. Most fruits available here are the ones you will find on the roadside shops in Singkawang as well: durian, rambutan, starfruit and avocado. You can buy flower seeds inside the green house near the exit.

    Bougenville Hill Garden is daily open from 9 am to 9 pm.

    Ticket fees:
    The entrance fee is IDR 10,000 per person.
