Seven Layers Fortress, Riau - Indonesia
Seven-Layers Fortress was established in 1835 and is located in Dalu-dalu village in Tambusai sub-district. Tins fortress constitutes the defense fortification of the struggle of dalu-dalu people which was the silent witness of the heroic mighty of not easily defeated spirit of Tuanku Tambusai ( De Padrische Tijger Van Rokan ) in resisting the Dutch Colonizer which was the first man from Riau who received the National Hero Award from the government of Republik of Indonesia.
This fort consists of seven layers with mounds of soil reaches a height of 11 meters is planted as a fence of thorny bamboo. Year 1838 - 1839, Lt. Col. Michele came to Dalu-Dalu to conquer this territory, eventually can be mastered Dutch fort.
