Neraja Waterfall, Beautiful Landscape in Anambas Island
Neraja Waterfall or the locals named Ulu Maras Waterfall. It offers natural waterfall with beautiful landscape. It is located at Ulu Maras village, east Jemaja sub-district, this waterfall becomes one of icons in Anambas Island, Riau Islands Province. The location is sharply in the middle of mountain at Ulu Maras village which is lush covered by tropical forest trees and resident’s plantation. To enter the waterfall’s complex is free of charge.
At Neraja waterfall, tourists can take a bath, swim and soak at its pool. There are two natural pools. The first pool is located near the top of the waterfall. Another pool is under the waterfall. The water flows heavily from the top. On the left and right of the waterfall, there are trees with various sizes. These trees are quite shady and make the situation surrounding the waterfall fresh. If you like to explore the nature, this waterfall offers adrenalin adventure. You can climb from the peak through the footpath. After that, you can try the streaming of the waterfall. And please do not forget to prepare all necessary things before going to Neraja waterfall.
Although located at the middle of the forest, this waterfall complex is completed with dressing rooms. There are also three gazebos to take a rest. And if you visit the waterfall, please do not forget to bring your own food and beverage because there are no stalls. To go to the waterfall, you can use sea transportation from Tanjungpinang city, the capital city of Riau Islands province to Letung seaport in Jemaja sub-district. The trip is continued by using land transportation to Neraja Waterfall.
