There are many versions of the name of Habibie Peak. Some said that the naming was because the third president of Indonesia, BJ Habibie, had the land and villas in the area. However, there was also a saying that the name was used because in that place, there was the office of Industri Pesawat Terbang Nusantara (IPTN), which now becomes PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI).
