Camping is an elective outdoor recreational activity. Generally held, participants leave developed areas to spend time outdoors in more natural ones in pursuit of activities providing them enjoyment. To be regarded as "camping" a minimum of one night is spent outdoors, distinguishing it from day-tripping, picnicking, and other similarly short-term recreational activities. Camping can be enjoyed through all four seasons.
Camping as a recreational activity became popular among elites in the early 20th century. With time, it grew more democratic, and varied. Modern participants frequent publicly owned natural resources such as national and state parks, wilderness areas, and commercial campgrounds. Camping is a key part of many youth organizations around the world, such as Scouting, which use it to teach both self-reliance and teamwork.
In Indonesia, there are many places suitable for camping activities, one of which is Coban Rais Camping Ground. Coban Rais is located on the slope of Mount Panderman, with a height of about ± 1,150 masl. Administratively, this place is located in the city of Batu, Oro-oro Ombo village or approximately ± 20 km from the city of Malang. Although it looks simple, this place has some public facilities such as restrooms, parking lots and food stalls that provide boiled noodles, fried food and warm drinks. Coban Rais camping ground has been known by many people, so almost every weekend, the place is never empty of visitors. Coban Rais campground area consists of several pieces of camping ground. Each piece can be to set up some tents in various sizes.

How to get here:
Private vehicle: Terminal Batu, you should head towards Batu TV Studio in the Dresel village. After that, you will down a path that passes through the woods and along the river which takes about 30 minutes. Then, you will find a junction, choose the right side.
Public transport: For those who use public transport from the city of Malang, you should use the AL or ADL and get off at the terminal Landung sari. After that, switch the vehicle to ride micro-bus with the code “Batu Malang” through Oro-oro Ombo
Here are some fun things to do while camping:
1. Water Activities
There are tons of exciting things you can do in the water if your campsite is near a lake, river, pool, or another body of water. Some of these activities are exhilarating, while others are for lazy, relaxing days. Slip on your bathing suit and have some fun in the water.
2. Play Games
Card games are perfect for camping. Cards are easy to pack and can be slipped into backpacks for easy access. Bring a deck of normal cards—there are limitless games to play with it.
3. Exploring Nature
Part of the joy of camping is being close to nature. Explore the great outdoors with these activities (Birdwatching, Collecting firewood or kindling, Going on a photo safari, taking pictures of the flora and fauna you find, etc)
