Indonesia is big country which has many different contour of land from Aceh to Papua. It’s makes coffee produced in each region has a different taste. Indonesian coffee production proudly ranks fourth in the world. People from Eastern and northern European countries love Indonesian coffees, especially Luwak Coffee.

These various kinds of coffee from some regions in Indonesia

Gayo Coffee
Gayo Coffee is pretty famous in the world. This coffee is from Aceh are planted in Middle Aceh, Bener Meriah and Gayo Lues. Gayo Arabica Coffee has premium quality and exported to Eropa countries, United State and Asia.

Sidikalang Coffee
Sidikalang is taken from the name of the district in North Sumatra. Sidikalang coffee is an icon of Sumatra coffee. This commodity is special because they grow in mountain areas which are rich of mineral and in volcanic plateau. This makes Sidikalang coffee has high quality.

Liwa and Luwak Coffee
Liwa Coffee is one of Luwak Coffee varieties which is very famous coffee in the world. In addition to the old process (the same with as Luwak coffee), Liwa Coffee is also produced with 2 aroma, ginseng and nut.

Luwak coffee is the world’s most expensive coffee. It has been produced from the coffee beans which have been digested by a certain Indonesian cat-like animal called then civet cat or also palm civet. This is the reason kopi luwak is also called cat poop coffee or civet cat coffee.

Toraja Coffee
Toraja Coffee is from South Sulawesi which has unique flavor. It has taste of a blend between low acid content and bitter taste. Some of coffee leave bitter taste in the mouth, but not for Toraja coffee, bitter taste quick disappear in the mouth. Toraja Coffee has 2 flavor, Toraja Arabica Coffee and Toraja Robusta Coffee.

Kintamani Coffee
Besides Gayo coffee, the famous coffee shop ‘Starbucks’ also uses Kintamani coffee as raw material. Kintamani coffee plant grows in Bangli, Bali Island, which is surrounded by beautiful mountain. It has smooth and sweet aroma, this coffee obtained from plantations with Subak irrigation system

Flores Coffee
Flores coffee is enjoyed by many American people. It has big seed, sparking color, and strong chocolate aroma. Flores coffee is from Ngada district, East Nusa Tenggara.

Wamena Coffee
Papua is not only famous for Raja Ampat, but also for Wamena Coffee plantation. Wamena Arabica coffee plantation grow in Baliem valley, Mount Jayawijaya, with 15 degrees Celsius. These plants are grown without chemical fertilizers. Although it is processed traditionally with organic and fertilizer, but the famers are very concerned about quality of the coffee.

Arang Coffee
Arang coffee (or Java Jampit) is from Jember, East Java. The second largest potential areas of development after Malang. Arang coffee is produced with unique ways:, coffee is burned and poured hot water. After poured with hot water, it will smell chili aroma.
