Sedekah Laut or Sea Offering is one of cultural processions in Cilacap which has been handed down in since the reign of Duke Cakrawerdaya III in 1817. However, the tradition was stopped and revived during Poedjono Pranjoto Regents in 1982 to the present.
This event is held as a symbol of gratitude to God Almighty for the abundant harvest by throwing the offering into the Ocean. The offering is consist of buffalo head and other harvest products like vegetables and fruit.
