Situated in Belitung, Kepayang – also known as Babi Island by the local – is only 12 ha in width and just 15 minutes by motorboat from Tanjung Kelayang beach. It’s an island-hopping to Lengkuas Island.

Outstanding scenic beauty is displayed on the way to this island, either started from Tanjung Kelayang or Tanjung Binga. It won’t be a boring travel to enjoy granite boulders formation as if it grows from the bottom of the sea. Moreover, clear water makes it possible to enjoy coral on the seabed from the surface.

This island has crystal-like water, white sand, and granite boulders. The lighthouse standing on Lengkuas Island can be seen from here. There are natural coral spots, around a hundred meters from the island, where tourists commonly have snorkeling or diving to enjoy colourful fish swimming at the coral. If we’re lucky, we may see rare Hawksbill turtle and Humphead wrasse. A group of environmental activist turning it into an ecotourism destination breeds hawksbill turtle here.

Tourists can involve in the environmental activities through coral plantation. Diving and snorkeling equipment are available to rent for that purpose or just to enjoy the underwater scenery. You can also accompanied by a diving guide or buddy. Besides that, for you who want to stay there, eco-lodge is available for accommodation. Don’t worry about food; you can enjoy Belitung typical dishes here.

For you who are interested in photography, Kepayang offers clear sight of beautiful sunset and sunrise. It’s, no doubt, worth for you to visit.
