A scenic 1000 meters long beach surrounded on both sides by rocky coral outcrops. Behind the beach are hills covered in coconut plantations. The middle of the beach has nice soft sand and is between 20-30 meters wide depending on the tide. The tree line lies between 100 to 200 meters behind the beach. At the south end the beach ends at the sheer rock walls of Nela Hill, a prominent landmark on this part of the coast. At this end there is also a freshwater spring with a little pool surrounding it. This area has some nice rock pools, good for swimming if the waves are not too big. Towards the northern end of the beach a creek cuts the beach in half. The water towards the northern corner is somewhat protected by the small headland at the end of the beach. On calm days swimming is good here but large waves are common during the wet season.

Lasambo beach is not far from Lahewa, but it can be tricky to find and it can only be reached by motorbike or on foot. Start in Lahewa, the largest town in North Nias, and drive south towards Afulu. After 4 kilometers you get to Sitoli Banua village, turn right here onto a small narrow track. Ask directions from locals to make sure you are on the right track. From here its 2 kilometers on a very rough track to the beach. You may have to walk the last 500 meters.

Address:
Lasambo beach is located in Sitoli Banua village, Lahewa district, North Nias regency of North Sumatra.
