Kamaka Lake is situated within the Gulf of Papua, in Triton Bay, Kaimana, West Papua Province. The lake is roughly 30 kilometers in size with a width of 1 km is called Lake Amafata by locals community. This lake is unique as it has an extreme difference between low and high tides for a period of 5 to 8 years. During low tide, the local community usually use the lake land for planting crops. You can find big fresh lobsters here.

How to get Kamaka Lake?
Flight is available from Sorong airport, which will transit in Fak-Fak and then go to Kaimana for about one and a half hours. In addition, the Ciremai ship (from Jakarta) and the Tatamailau ship (from Manado) are available to take you to Kaimana.
From Kaimana, sea transportation is the only way to go to Kamaka village. There is a ship belonging to the local government which makes a stop over in Kamaka but only operates three times a month.
Alternatively, you can take a rented longboat or speedboat to go to Kamaka. From Port Kaimana. It will take about 1.5 to 3 hours. Upon your arrival in Kamaka village, you can walk about 7 kilometers or two hours through forests to reach Lake Kamaka.
