Lematang River is a river located in the district of Lahat, South Sumatra. In this river never found an ancient type of boat called the Big Dipper.

This river was formerly often skipped ship hull wheel track area and stopped by to sell merchandise. From here the origin of the name of the city Lahat was born, when the ship left the area served by the local people come home from the edge of the river which in Lahatnya Larat (left).

The more shallow water make the river impassable Lematang no longer be able to wheel the ship hull.
