It is
the capital city of the nation, after all. That means Jakarta becomes a perfect
checkpoint before visiting other regions. Aside from that, it also has tons of
attractive vacation spots that offer different themes. For instance, there is
the MACAN Museum in Kebon Jeruk Sub-District. Tourists only need to reach
Perjuangan 5 Street in order to get to the museum. So, what is in there? Well,
the official name is the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara. As
the name suggests, visitors would be able to see numerous art collections based
on that genre.

The
Nuance

In terms of nuance, MACAN Museum is
definitely crowded due to both excellent popularity and strategic location. The
building resides on the roadside, after all. That means all passengers or
tourists would be able to notice it easily. Not to mention the location is near
to famous places like Central Park and Taman Anggrek Mall. When it comes to the
size, the building is moderate, but it features several rooms with various
modern art collections. One thing, the ticket fee is considered expensive,
especially during holidays and weekends.

Exploring
MACAN Museum

Visitors have a different purpose for
visiting the museum. In fact, only some of them are interested in modern and
contemporary arts. It is because most visitors are likely to conduct
photography and take selfies either at the outside or inside the building.
First, once arriving at the lobby, tourists would meet the guards and ticket
booth. Don’t forget to carry enough cash, therefore. As mentioned before, the
nuance is quite crowded due to the presence of lots of visitors. Most of them
are local families and teenagers, actually.

Here is the rule. Visitors are not
allowed to carry cameras and snacks while exploring the museum unless they have
obtained special permission from the guards. Usually, this may take more money
to get access. Have no worries. The expenses would be quite worthy. Well, aside
from photography, visitors are able to learn further information regarding the
museum and its collections. For the information, those arts belong to an artist
namely Yayoi Kusama. The items are distributed neatly in all three floors of
the building, as well.

In order to watch and enjoy all modern
art objects and attractions, tourists even need to queue. The reason is none
other than the high number of visitors. One thing, no one is allowed to touch
those objects. When it comes to photography, using the flash feature is
prohibited! Even some objects are quite protected. That means tourists are not
allowed to take photos of them!

Nearby
Attractions

Cattleya Park

Srengseng City Forest

Lipo Mall

How
to Get There

The prime destination is indeed Jakarta
City and the trip can be done in various ways. This trip only takes about 25 minutes, as
the distance is 12.2 km. Another example is a trip by bus. In this case, the
destination is Grogol Bus Station.
