Before you pack all you need to travel, there’s one more thing to be taken care of: your Visa please!

All travelers to Indonesia must obtain a Visa from one of the Indonesian diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries. To do this, you just need a return ticket to your home country, or an outbound ticket for your next destination after Indonesia.

Free Tourist Visa

By Presidential Decree of No. 21 of 2016 dated on March 2016, tourists from 169 countries worldwide have been granted the Visa Free (or free Visa On Arrival / VOA). The visa is valid for 30 days and can be used for tourism, family visit, social visit, art and cultural, government duty, to deliver a speech or attend a seminar, international exhibitions, meetings with head office or representatives office in Indonesia, or transit. It is non-extendable. If you are from one of the 169 countries eligible for a free VOA, you can collect your visa when you arrive at one of Indonesia’s many inbound ports or borders.

Passengers from cruise ships arriving at Benoa in Bali should be aware that the immigration office at the harbour does not currently have a visa free facility. This means you still will need to apply for a Visa on Arrival.

The following are the Countries granted Visa Free Facilities according to Presidential Decree No. 21 of 2016:

1.
