This is a very condensed private tour, and is one of our longest day tours. The 4x4 private jeep tour covers most major sites along the South Coast of Iceland, including Seljalandfoss, Skogafoss, black beaches and the magnificent Glacier Lagoon, Jorkulsarlon. This day tour offers the busy travelers who want to stretch the distance within a very short period of time the opportunity to do so in comfort.

We head straight southward to two beautiful waterfalls on the South Coast, Seljalandfoss and Skogafoss. The surefooted can walk behind the cascade of the graceful Seljalandfoss. At Skogafoss you get to admire it’s impressive power as it carries water from the two powerful glaciers, Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull.

We then hit the dramatic black beaches on South Coast of Iceland. We continue east going through the towns of Kirkjubaejarklaustur and the vast desert Skeidararsandur, until we reach Skaftafell National Park, where the highest peak in Iceland, Hvannadalshnjukur (2119 m) is located.
Our final stop is the magnificent glacier lagoon, Jokulsarlon. At Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon you will see amazing icebergs floating in the lagoon, so have your camera ready. The main lagoon measures about 7 square miles (20 km2). Up until 1932 was covered in thick glacial ice, then the glacier started to retreat, and nowadays more than 330 feet (100 m) of ice breaks away each year to reshape the lagoon and fill it with huge spectacular icebergs.

From Jokulsarlon we turn around and head back towards Reykjavik. It is one of the longer tours however it is definitely recommended for the travellers who are tight on time but would like to see more of the South Coast.
