- Overview

This full-day tour also comes with additional adventure to the Langjokull Glacier in a 4x4 Jeep. Cover Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park where Viking settlers stood centuries ago to proclaim national laws, a Geysir geothermal area, Gullfoss, the spectacular golden waterfall, and Langjokull, the second largest glacier in Iceland where you will have the option to take a snowmobile ride. The first stop takes you to Thingvellir National Park where the oldest parliament was founded over 1000 years ago. Many crucial events in Icelandic history took part here and it is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Here you will also see how the earth is ever so slowly pulling apart along the North-America and Eurasian tectonic plates. Next, visit the Geysir geothermal area in Haukadalur where you can see geysers, hot springs, steam vents and eerie blue algae. Although the Great Geysir is relatively dormant, Strokkur, also being one of the largest and most powerful geysers and erupts approximately every 5 minutes.
Proceed then to Gullfoss waterfall, which many consider to be the queen of Icelandic waterfalls, as it is both high and mighty and stumbles in a deep gorge. Gullfoss is in fact 2 separate waterfalls, the upper one has a 11m drop and the lower one with 21m beautifully angled creating a dramatic cascade.
Have a lunch break at Gullfoss Café, before taking the Super Jeep vehicles off-road to the second largest glacier in Iceland, the Long Glacier, Langjokull. The ride will take you across glaciers and highlands, splashing through rivers and the rough terrain. You will enjoy the landscape from your super Jeep while occasionally stopping to incredible sights.
After an off-road ride, we will head to the amazing 3,000 years-old Kerið crater before driving back to Reykjavik.
