Snowmobile and Ice Cave Tour from Reykjavik
- Overview
This is truly a trip for the adventurer. Snowmobile on top of an Icelandic glacier and then step below the surface and explore a man made Ice Cave. This tour has In-bus audio guide with 10 languages. We will make our way from Reykjavík towards Húsafell in Borgarfjörður. From there we will begin our accent upwards to the Ice Cap of Langjökull. We will begin our snowmobiling trip from Jaki, on the West side of the Glacier. After we get ourselves ready, in the proper suits with all necessary safety equipment and instructions we will dash across the glacier and gaze at the incredible surroundings. After snowmobiling we will get to the bottom of things as we will go down into a magnificent man made Ice Cave situated on the same glacier. Your expert guide will take you on a magical journey, deep within the glacier where you will get a chance to see the stunning blue glacier ice. However, until very recently what lies beneath the surface of Langjökull was a mystery. But sometimes bold ideas can come to life. The realisation of this idea was only possible with great effort and help from top engineers and renowned geo physicist. Inside the glacier the temperature is usually around 0 degrees Celsius or 32 Fahrenheit. After Snowmobiling and Ice Caving we will make our way back into civilisation, or to the small town of Húsafell. After a chilly day you can soak in the thermal swimming pool or relax in the hot tub. What a day!
