Join a guided tour of the "Caribbean of the North Woods." Available to small groups or private parties, this local day trip will help you make the most of South Manitou's crystal blue waters, rich forests, and sandy shores.
This local tour operators experienced guides will share their knowledge of South Manitou island, ranging from myths and legends to ecology and history. Just meet them at the dock and they will take it from there - including food, ticket reservations, and more!
You will meet your local guide at the Leland harbor, where you will take the famous ferry "Mishe-Mokwa" across a 7-mile stretch of Lake Michigan. While on the ferry, our guides will point out major landmarks of both the shore and the island. Customization is a tradition with these local guides, and they will help you to plan a trip that fits your needs, interests, physical stamina, and the weather. Possibilities include:
Lunch will be provided, and will include both a healthy travel lunch and snacks throughout the day. Due to the early end of the trip, dinner is not included - but we will happily guide you to a number of popular food destinations in both Leland and beyond.
