This half-day morning excursion offers the perfect introduction to the fascinating story of London's growth and development through the centuries. What better way to start exploring than a tour of the Tower of London, where a Yeoman Warder will be ready and waiting with stories of imprisonment, torture and execution.
This half day tour provides an exciting opportunity to see many of LondonÂ’s iconic historic and cultural landmarks, and offers visitors a great introduction to this World cultural capital.
Driving through the heart of the city from Westminster and Parliament Square en route to the area known to many as ‘The Square Mile’ , the original walled settlement built by the Romans in the 1st Century AD which has grown into a metropolitan region of over 20 million inhabitants.
The tour starts with a private visit to the Tower of London, where a Yeoman Warder will explain the history of Her MajestyÂ’s Royal Palace and Fortress, founded and built by William the Conqueror in the 11th Century.
Visitors will have time to explore the many highlights of this World Heritage Site, including a chance to view the Crown Jewels, the White Tower, the Bloody Tower and TraitorÂ’s Gate.
From the Tower of London the tour continues with a short cruise, and a chance to view some more of LondonÂ’s famous landmarks from the River Thames, including London Bridge, ShakespeareÂ’s Globe and CleopatraÂ’s Needle.
Once back on land the next stop is Buckingham Palace , with the aim of securing an ideal vantage point to witness the legendary Changing of the Guard ceremony, as the QueenÂ’s Life Guard and the QueenÂ’s Guard march to the military music of various Bands, including the Grenadier Guards, the Household Cavalry and the Coldstream Guards.
