Throughout his life Eugène Boudin was a writer. His letters, notebooks, journals and even a short autobiography tell us about the man, his relations with others, his profession and his artistic ambitions. The exhibition intends to provide a comparison between the works of this pioneer of Impressionism and the thoughts and aspirations contained in his writings. Boudin directed his research towards a mastery of the depiction of natural light, which would lead him to the frontiers of pure painting. Showing approximately 100 works (watercolours, pastels, drawings, paintings), the exhibition will provide an opportunity to know and understand better Boudin’s work and thus to refine the portrait of the artist himself.

Your guide will advise you of some nice gourmet restaurant where to have lunch before discovering Honfleur.
