August to October gives the best opportunity to get an aerial view of the Southern Right Whales in Walker Bay just two hours drive outside Cape Town. A light aircraft takes you on a 45 minute flight to enable you to spot the whales, but also to give you the best opportunity to take close-up pictures. Then drive to Hermanus, the South African "Whale capital" for whale watching from the rocks

After lunchtime you are taken to Hemel-en-Aarde Valley to taste some of the best wines in the area. On the way back to Cape Town a stop is made at Danger Point to see the African Penguin in it's natural habitat. A spectacular mountain drive all along the coast of False Bay takes you back into Cape Town.

Pick up at 7am, then embark on the 2.5 hour drive to the town of Stanford for your "Whale Flight" in Walker Bay. The journey takes you along the spectacular Sir Lowry's- and Houwhoek passes to the "Overberg", the region to find the South African National Bird, the Blue Crane. The most beautiful drive along the apple orchards will make you realize you are in "apple country"

As you descend, the vastness of Canola- and wheat fields will be visible in the distance. After about two hours drive arrive in Hermanus, the Whale Capital of South Africa. Drive all along the coastline of Walker Bay to the town of Stanford where you'll find the airstrip on a Protea and wine farm (the King Protea is the national flower of South Africa). The 45 minute flight now follows.

After the flight taste the smooth wines of the estate. Then drive back to Hermanus to watch the whales from the rocks. At 12:30pm, leave for the "Hemel-en-Aarde Valley" to sample award-winning wines at two vineyards. At 2:30pm return via a different route to make it possible to spend time with hundreds of penguins at Stoney Point. Continue the journey all along the coastline of False Bay and, if you are lucky, you may even spot more whales in False Bay. Drop off in Cape Town at approximately 5pm
