Maritime Festival in Waisai City, Raja Ampat Regency
Several interesting festivals are available in Raja Ampat Regency. One of them is called Maritime Commemoration or “Festival Bahari”. It is the pride of Waisai City and becomes an annual event among the locals. The thing is the theme always changes every year and usually it is conducted in Waisai Torang Cinta Beach. The event is done to show gratitude towards the nautical potential in Raja Ampat. Not to mention it becomes the lure for tourists. The locals may join the festival and show their creativity there. At the beginning of the event, a local dance is performed and the audience is allowed to enjoy local foods and meals prior to witnessing the main attractions.
Being an annual event, Maritime Festival helps Waisai City to improve tourists flow. Apart from numerous types of competitions, the audience can witness an exhibition of traditional boats. The locals show off their ancient boats, which were used by their ancestors back then. Next, they may also show how to eat local fruits, as it has become quite a tradition there.
