nishleclerc Says:

Jan 29, 2009 - I just spent two weeks there about three weeks ago. I had visited Samosir for the first time in 1982 and I was very happy to see it unchanged 25 years later. I ate mostly at Burana's. The food was so good there ! :))

Mar 7, 2009 - indonesians, malaysians, filipinos are look alike same as people in southernmost provinces of thailand (yala, pattani, narathiwat). but the pattern of migration began in south taiwan to the philippines to borneo to other indonesian islands to malaysia reaching southern provinces of thailand...we're all from one race malay...but since the spanish colonized the philippines we've become mixed with spanish blood, chinese, etc..i wanna visit lake toba..is it safe to travel in indonesia nowadays?

Mar 28, 2009 - Say hello to M. Bloom at Samosir Cottages for me, he's a cool dude who can get you everything you want... And try the food at the Boruna restaurant, 20m away from Samosir Cottages, taste real good. If you smoke, you can get 500gr of local tobacco for $2.50 at the Parapat market on saturdays. Finally, if quiet is what you're seaking, get the matrimonial suite (although it's got problem of water) and not a bungalow near the lake. The noisiest days are during week-ends and public holidays.

Mar 28, 2009 - Let me know how you liked it ! Have a pleasant stay mate ! :) Don't miss those rides in the mountains but be careful on the roads. Cheers !

Jul 23, 2009 - With that kind of attitude and absence of rationality, it's not safe to travel anywhere. Stay home. All blood is mixed, if you haven't learned that from travelling, you haven't learned anything.

EuniceCopengco Says:

Jul 27, 2009 - but other countries give you advisory warning wether it's safe to travel or not in that country...of course there are safe places where you can visit...

adamitinerant Says:

Jul 27, 2009 - Hi Eunice; I was replying to FallsBoyzz's racial supremacist comments and strange idea of racial purity. It's a good idea to examine travel advisory notices with some caution. They often reflect the philosophies of the countries issuing them rather than the current risk-levels. Notice that after 11/09/01 we were told "go to the US, or the terrorists have won", but after the Bali and JKT bombs we are told to stay away. My point was if a person is racist, it's better they stay home.
