Une vieille légende prétend qu'un typhon, en 1880, avait à moitié détruit le village de Tai Hang, au nord de l'ile de Hong Kong. En rebâtissant, les villageois ont découvert un python qui dévorait leur bétail. Ils l'ont tué mais s'en sont mordu les doigts lorsqu'aussitôt une épidémie...
