    Blenduk Church - Oldest Building Chuch of Semarang



    Blenduk Chuch has long been known as one of the icon of Semarang. Being a Dutch heritage, this church has a hundred-year-old pipe organ. Semarang City has many heritage buildings of the Dutch Colonial Period. Dutch-style architecture buildings are spread almost to the entire city of Semarang, especially in the area of ​​the old city. One of the famous ancient buildings is Blenduk Church that located in the old city of Semarang.

    Blenduk Church is located at Jalan Letjend Suprapto No 32 Kota Lama, Semarang. Blenduk Church is the oldest Christian church in Central Java that was built by the Dutch people who lived in the city of Semarang in 1753. This church is actually called GPIB Immanuel Church, and this church is still used for worship activities until now.




    This old building is known as the "Blenduk" Church because of its bulging roof dome form, or in the Java language called "blenduk". Inside the church, exactly on the balcony still looks organ (orgel) relic of the Dutch era that has hundreds of years old. Unfortunately, this organ can no longer function as a companion when the congregation of church sing.

    Blenduk Church has always been a good destination for the surrounding community or tourists who hunt for "instagramable" photos. Even on the front of the church area, there is a beautiful garden with a variety of ornaments onthel bike era that can be used as an attractive spot photo. In addition to take pictures outside Blenduk Church area, the tourist are also allowed to enter this church every day, if there is no worship service. Blenduk Church is opened at 8:00 to 15:00 by paying the church maintenance fee of 10,000 Rupiah per person.
