    Cangar, What a relaxing place


    A hot spring is a spring produced by the emergence of geothermally heated groundwater that rises from the Earth's crust. There are geothermal hot springs in many locations all over the crust of the earth. While some of these springs contain water that is a safe temperature for bathing, others are so hot that immersion can result in injury or death. One of the famous hot spring baths in the town of Batu is Cangar This hot spring is located in the village of Sumber Brantas, Bumiaji sub-district, about 20 km from the city of Batu. Around this place, there are still many species of monkeys as well as other unexploited regions. That makes this area look natural. Interestingly, all pools in hot spring are not man-made but formed naturally. There are some facilities that can pamper you in this place, such as Playground, camping ground, Villa and Hall, flying fox, culinary, as well as a Japanese cave is located not far from the location of the bathhouse.

    In addition, near this area, there is an Arboretum that you can visit. Arboretum is a botanical garden that has a collection of trees or various woods (typically forest plants) are useful for science particularly for forest science. Sumber Brantas Arboretum is located in the hamlet of Sumber Brantas, Tulungrejo, Bumiaji, City of Batu, East Java. It is located on the eastern slopes of Mount Anjasmoro, approximately 18 km north of Batu or near Forest Park (Tahura). This place also near Cangar. Sumber Brantas Arboretum name was given by the Minister of Forestry of Indonesia, Ir. Hasrul Harahap, during a visit to Sumber Brantas in 1989.

    The garden that is managed by Perum Jasa Tirta I is not less beautiful with the Bogor Botanical Gardens or Pasuruan. Its location in the highlands makes Arboretum has a climate cold enough. Not only exotic scenery, a collection of flowers and rare trees in this place is also very tempting. You can find a variety of plants in the Arboretum Sumber Brantas. There are about 3,200 trees have been planted in this garden. Among others, cinnamon (Cinnanonum Burmani), Kayuputih (Eucalyptus sp), Gagar (Fraxinus griffiti), Fir spines (Araucaria sp), Pine Mountain (Casuarina junghuhniana), Fir pine trees, Kina (Chinchona sp), Cempaka / Locari (Michelia champaka), pine (Pinus), Waker Kaspanye, Elo (Ficus glomerata), Klampok (Eugenia sp), Pule (Alstonia sp), Banyan (Ficus benjamina), Bottle brush (Callistemon sp), Cannon ball (Couroupitageuanensis), Kakrok (Curciligo archioides), Puspa (Schima norohnae), and others.

    How to get here:

    Well, to go to the hot springs, you must use a private vehicle, either a motorcycle or a car. Because there are no public transportation routes that led to this location. From the city center of Batu, you should head to the west and then turned toward the East, and straight up to the destination. The distance is about 20 km.
